Hi There, great site! I have been wondering what happened to those 'King Melbourne rattlers', it
seems a pity that there are so few of them around now..I always thought of them as Melbourne's
answer to the San Francisco's cable cars. Keep up the good work folks!!
Sara Frederick, South Caulfield.
Dear wclasstrams.com,
I think what you have done on this site is terriffic! I can't stand Yarra Trams, they have ruined trams
for me. Bloody 'W' anyday, a bit more on the streets thanks Yarra Trams.
Michael Parson, Williamstown.
Hey, It's such a shame that Peter Batchelor hasn't saved more of these things. They add a charm to
the street.
Brad.
To the director of wclasstrams.com, I think that the condition of the transport system is deplorable.
Back when we had the W's, we had a real service, add me to the members. I will be more of a
watcher than a participant as I live in Belgrave, hope this does not exclude me from being a
member though.
Ian Thomas.
Hi, great job on the website! agree with all that you said. Keep it up!
How do I become a member? Paul.
Dear Director, I work with Yarra Trams, for this reason I will remain anonymous. I whole heartedly
agree with the observations you have made regarding the old, 'classic' W type trams and how Yarra
Trams is trying to wipe them out. I spoke to my depot manager a few years ago who said that the
Yarra Trams CEO was unhappy with the W's running at all, already the W's run shorter routes.
Best wishes,
Y.T employee.

To whom it may concern,
This site is a great way to get the ball rolling (people thinking!), The W Class trams are an example of
what is being lost under the rule of profit driven private enterprise. The W class trams of
Melbourne are such a wonderful sight, now rare and one of the marvelous icons of few that add
critical character and value to Melbourne. The W class design is good enough to go long past their
use-by date by far.
